Saltwater Fish House & Oyster Bar: Reviews & Ratings

We visited Saltwater Oyster House the day before Mother’s Day to beat the crowds, knowing they don’t take reservations. We arrived around 3:55 p.m., put our name in, and were told the wait would be about an hour. With time to spare, we explored the charming town of Langley—popping into quaint shops, local bookstores, and even admiring the nearby shoreline. The glassblowing shop was a highlight and helped the time pass quickly. Though the wait ended up being a bit longer than expected, it only built up our appetite—and we definitely ordered more than we could eat! Everything was fantastic. The crab cakes were among the best we’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, rich and flavorful inside. The Connecticut-style lobster roll was authentic and absolutely worth the price. As expected at an oyster house, I had to try a couple oysters, and they were fresh and delicious. The fish and chips were also excellent—the batter perfectly crisp, and the tartar sauce complemented it beautifully. Our server (with pink hair!) was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly a local favorite, as several guests greeted them by name. They not only walked us through the menu but also gave us great recommendations for local things to see. If you’re planning to visit, drop your name in and take a walk around Langley while you wait—there’s plenty to see and do. And when you return, you’ll be in for a truly memorable meal. Don’t forget to let the server with pink hair know they’re doing a fantastic job!

The food was amazing. My lobster roll was the best I ever had. The clam chowder was quite possibly the best as well. My wife loved her oyster po boy sandwich. Service was perfect! A must stop if you find yourself in Langley.

The mussels are always amazing and the sauce will have specials for when you’re in the mood for something new, but familiar. If you’re there for lunch you have to try the lobster roll, its the best I’ve had in 4 states and 3 countries. They also have a great oyster happy hour.

This was recommended by a local business owner we were speaking with so we checked it out. It was packed so we had to wait about 10 minutes for a bar seat. Not that bad of a wait and a good sign that it was so popular. We were not disappointed. The smoked salmon bites and halibut and chips were delicious. You could also see them shuck the oysters from the bar. We were also told that the lobster roll was fantastic (and it looked great sitting at the table next to us!). If you are a seafood fan, you can’t go wrong here. Food was great and the price point was right on.

Service was very good here. In terms of the food, I really enjoyed the oysters and ended up ordering another round. The Cranberry Creek and Mirada were my favorite. Clam chowder was too watery and fish and chips had too much batter to fish ratio.

We were seated fast once we arrived, our server was very sweet and overall service was great. I really enjoyed the house specialty pasta, it was packed full of flavor. My sister and friend loved their oysters. The one thing that wasn’t great, it was mid was the burger.

Visited recently and had high hopes, but the experience was just okay. The seafood lacked flavor and didn’t taste fresh. I got the shrimp roll I got tiny shrimp with no seasoning, not even fresh dill, also got their fish and chips only to get 2 small pieces of cod. On the bright side, if you’re into French fries, they do those really well. Not terrible, but definitely wouldn’t come back for the seafood. Maybe it was an off day. But at this point it’s an overpriced Ivars.

Cozy & Comfortable place to enjoy a nice seafood dinner! I tried their special of the evening, pan seared halibut. We also had their wedge salad, calamari and 1/2 crab. Good Food, Great Service… we will be back
